Get Ready to Geek Out - The Maker Faire Comes to New York City... Finally
Save the date: September 25 and 26 at the New York Hall of Science in Queens. There will be over 50 sponsors and over 300 "makers" exhibiting the latest in science and technology. It's a collaborative, interactive event that encourages attendees to participate in the exhibitions. Come with a willingness to explore and have fun. The Maker Faire is an event not to be missed.
Since 2006 Maker Faire's mission has been to inspire, inform, connect and entertain thousands of makers and aspiring makers of all ages and backgrounds through the public gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkers, hobbyists, science clubs, students, authors and commercial exhibitors.
Some of the sponsors this year include: Ford Motor, Microsoft, HP, Cliff Bar, and Red Bull. Some of the makers include: NYU, Mouse, Hacker Space, and the 3D Printer Village.
Some of the speakers this year include Stephen Wolfram, Chris Anderson from Wired Magazine, Ira Flatow from Science Fridays on NPR, and Steve Jacobs, the writer from Myth Busters.
There will be live bands, races, games, and plenty of stuff for kids.
