Use a Sustainable Water Container

Ever find yourself going through a dozen 10 oz. water bottles in a day? Think about all the energy it took to produce the bottles and transport them to you. Instead of wasting your money and damaging our environment with bottled water, try carrying your own reusable container! Plus, bottled water has almost no regulation (could be less clean than NYC tap) and is most often municipal tap water. Check the bottle on a Poland Springs bottle next time your at the store and notice all the "mountain spring" sounding city sources of the water.

Nalgene containers used to contain bisphenol A. However, the company stopped in April 2008. Klean Kanteen is made from stainless steel. Sigg is made from Aluminium.

Steel bottles do not usually leach, that is they don’t make the liquid inside taste of metal. Aluminum bottles do, so therefore need a lining, with SIGG’s being a water-based, non-toxic coating that is baked into the interior walls and remains flexible and crack resistant for the life of the bottle. The lining is taste neutral and resistant to fruit acids and energy drinks, and though it is FDA approved, it would be nice to know generally what it’s made out of.
