Transportation Alternatives

Transportation Alternatives (Also known as: Trans Alt or TA) is the leading bicycle advocacy organization in New York City. They are responsible for persuading the city to install new bike lanes, installing new bike racks, increasing bicycle safety laws, creating care-free parks, and allowing for indoor bicycle parking in city office buildings.

TA's main priorities include:
* Growing Bicycling
* Complete and Healthy Streets
* Car-Free Parks
* Parking Reform
* Streets Renaissance
* Traffic Justice

Through TA's website, there are many ways you can take action, here a few:
*Strategic support of key transportation-related legislation
*Send a letter to your local representative
*Volunteer
*Join your Borough's Committee

TA hosts several annual City-wide bicycle tours including the Century Tour. The funds raised from the participation in these tours goes directly to fighting for TA's top priorities mentioned above.
